Small Works & Experimental Sketches - Feb 2024 in Studio 410

During the month fo February 2025, Rachel Brask Studio has curated a new exhibit, Small Works & Experimental Sketches. Along one wall of the studio are a limited selection of small finished artworks, sized 12x16, far smaller than Brask’s usual 30x40 works. Along the other wall are a curated arrangement of paintings and sketches that are the result of experimentation, or created as a demonstration piece for an event or program, and several were experimental process works from art residencies. These particular pieces are usually stored on shelves in storage, but for the short month of February, thought that it would be a fun way to change up the usual exhibition of final, finished works, by providing a peek into the behind the scenes of some of the successes and failures resulting from experimentation in the technique that Rachel Brask made up and has been refining over the course of 7-8 years, and in these sketches to see some signposts as to where her work may evolve eventually. The show is open to the public on SoWa Sunday afternoons, and by appointmet, through the end of February 2025.
