The first First Friday marks Brask’s new studio open to the public
On March 1, 2024 the SoWa artist studios held its monthly First Friday. This event marked Rachel Brask’s first public event in the building, and the first time her new studio was opened to the public. After moving in during a whirlwind week of assembling furniture, unpacking, and moving in, it was finally “GO time!”
About 200 people came through the studio, and Rachel provided a live demonstration of her paint process throughout the night, sharing what goes into one of her rainy oil paintings. At the end of the night, the painting looked very different from how it had begun.
Brask will be opening her studio monthly as part of SoWa First Fridays, and by appointment.
