The making of this commissioned triptych

These are some behind-the-scenes process photos showing the concept and creation process of a recently commissioned triptych painting of rainy drips and dots coexisting across the planes of the canvases.

Note the specific signs (masking tape flags on toothpicks taped to the canvases) to designate the visual marker for either dots or drips for that texture section

Some of the "runoff" oil paint after the drips have started rolling down the canvas towards the "gutter"

I moved the paintings to my larger SoWa studio for finishing touches

Bottom, top, and side edges painted in line with which texture is applied on that section

Had some fun with a little bit of staging

The paintings are 95% dry but are still delicate to move to my vehicle from the studio for final transport to the client

How I tried to keep three semi-wet panels from mushing together during the drive to their final destination

...and finally installed in the client's home!
