Revealed Rain new direction of Brask paintings to be revealed in Bold Brushstrokes group exhibit

Slightly new direction for Rachel Brask abstract rain paintings to debut in group abstract show called “Bold Brushstrokes” at Heartspot Art Gallery end of May through June 2023. These paintings reveal “slices” of the paintings where Brask has left the pointillism-esque dots of her process intact and “un-rained,” revealing the drastic changes in texture from the process.

This collection focuses most on the abstract elements and materiality of the paint and process. Brask has revisited a few previous compositions to show the effect of freezing the “rain” and paint daubs in place, as well as she has created several new compositions with these effects.
