About Maine Rains Collection

In 2018 I spent an artist residency in Maine, where I created these paintings. I was heavily influenced by the beauty of the convergence of sea and land and sky, as where the residency is located is right on the harbor water. With easy access to Acadia National Park, several of the paintings were influenced by exploring areas of the park and using references I photographed while exploring. Each day at sunset I ran down to the docks to capture the beautiful sunsets, and turned several into paintings evoking that sense of rain.
